The Proof of Sustainability for SMEs

esg2go enables companies to systematically record, assess, and benchmark their sustainability performance. We support you from the initial assessment to the final evaluation – for greater transparency, targeted actions, and credible communication towards clients, partners, and investors.

What is esg2go?

esg2go was developed by the Center for Corporate Responsibility (CCRS) at the University of Applied Sciences in Fribourg, in collaboration with industry partners. It is designed to offer SMEs a simple and structured entry point into ESG assessments.

The online questionnaire covers core topics across Environmental, Social, and Governance areas. Scoring is provided on a percentage scale (0–100%) and includes detailed feedback on a company’s performance—with optional peer benchmarking within the relevant industry.

How does the rating work?

Using the online questionnaire, companies report both quantitative data—such as energy use and emissions—and qualitative information on working conditions, diversity, or strategy implementation.

The evaluation is automated via a points-based system. Results are presented as an overall score (0–100%) and as separate ratings for Environment, Social, and Governance dimensions. In addition, esg2go provides benchmarking against industry peers and identifies strengths and areas for improvement.

Cost and License Model

Using esg2go requires an annual license. The cost depends on the desired level of functionality – for example, whether the license includes only the rating with reporting and benchmarking, or also additional modules such as esg2go Intelligence, a CO₂ calculator with reduction pathway, or automated reports aligned with GRI and CSRD standards. The license includes access to the online questionnaire, evaluation of the rating, industry benchmarking, and the option to obtain a certificate. Companies can update their rating annually and systematically document their progress.
